I'm ready for my massage!

Mmmmmmmm......

Chocolate bear care of Trader Joe's mini-cones!!

She loved the look of these donuts and, if you look closely, there's one
bite taken from each quarter!

Camera shy

Z is becoming wary of the parental paparazzi.
More and more, she demands "no pictures!"
Sigh....

Zooey's art show

Z is beginning to enjoy herself with her painting. . .

. . .but she has decided that she can be her own canvas as well.

Remember these. . .

Z puckers up!

Zooey is TWO

We said we weren't going to make a big deal of Z's 2nd birthday. And we didn't, but we ended up celebrating twice--once on Feb 17th, then again the following weekend with some family.

This Minnie Mouse backpack was a gift from her nanny, Joann.  I wish we had a video
of this.  Joann didn't have wrapping paper and just brought it in a plastic bag, so of
course Zooey wasn't interested in opening it when we handed it to her.
She tried to push it away but I started opening the bag for her - when she saw it, she started
squealing and was super, super excited.
It's like we had a real little girl on our hands, she's not a baby anymore....

Z is wearing big girl couture. . .

. . .and knows how to sell it!

Earrings(clips), necklace, and baubles care of Ellen Eemo!

Cute shots

We know, we know.  We've been delinquent with our updates, but somehow Jennie and I both got real busy real fast. We promise to add some new posts soon, but we hope you enjoy these new pictures.

FYI, she now counts to 10 (sometimes with a little help), knows her basic colors, and now excellently makes her demands known in 3+ word sentences.

Good night!

Hiding!

Swiiiinnngg!

Although Zooey's been going on the swings for a while, she reached
a new level of enjoyment in the past couple of weeks.  She now LOVES it and
spends about 80% of her time at the playground on the swings, whether
the 'baby' ones or the 'big kid' ones.

For some reason, she likes to close her eyes while swinging, I guess to fully
experience the 'flying' sensation that she now loves.

She will often yell out "fy-ing, fy-ing!" when she's not
yelling "higher! higher!"

Chef Zooey!

Last week, Zooey and I were both a little bored and both craving a little
something....chocolate-y (yes, we BOTH were craving!)

A quick look in the pantry yielded a chocolate cake mix (don't judge!) and so we baked

I was pretty impressed with her focus and dexterity when pouring the mix into the cups!  Of course there was a bit of a mess, but I was expecting much worse...

The finished product:

(doesn't seem too convinced it's edible...)
yummy!
