Zooey's first recital

**It's important to note that Zooey actually 'ORDERED' me to the piano to play with her;
of course I had no choice but to obey :)

[please excuse my unsightly presence at the piano - mean daddy decided to exact
revenge on behalf of his little girl]

What started out as paint-with-brush on paper quickly moved to
paint-with-fingers on body:

Wonder Woman's busy day!

Yes, we went out in public like this.
She picked the WW costume from her drawer and brought it to me this morning.
Due to recent restless nights and early morning wake ups (5AM, 3 nights in a row!!!) I had no energy to fight with her to get her to change before we left the house.
I'm learning to pick my battles. sigh.

Stop #1: Home Goods
Zooey thought this cat climbing tower was the perfect chair for her:

 Found the Halloween decorations!

Stop #2: Barnes and Noble
After playing in the kids' section, we stopped to have a little snack

Zooey was so happy with her triple chocolate chunk cookie that she
decided to do a little dance.

Stop #3: Old Navy
She spotted these bright pink shoes from a mile away and kept pointing
to them until I put one on her foot.  It was WAY too big but she loved it!

Stop #4: Bed Bath and Beyond
She decided she needed a little break and laid down.

When I asked her to get up, this is the response I got:

Finally home and having crepes for dinner!
Z decides the plastic container is a piano and accompanies herself:

This is what dad gives her to get her to sleep:

Busy day

We went to the Claremont library for Toddler Storytime - because of the heat, sooooo many kids!

"Look at me, I can lift my leg!!"
 Whoops!!!

Julie emo was visiting and decided to make Zooey practice for her flower girl duties.
It started off well (sort of) - flower petals (or in this case, ripped up bits of kleenex)
were being tossed gently-ish:

Then she started getting more and more aggressive...

And she hurled that basket like she was doing the discus throw in the Olympics!

It's a good thing we have a couple more months to practice!

BONUS TRACK:

Random cuteness

Zooey pulled down her bows from the wall and wanted me to put them on for her:

After yanking an earring out of my ear (ouch!) miss z demanded I put it on her own ear.
Instead, I put a little puffy sticker on each, and she was VERY happy.

Uncle Tim babysitting (with Julie emo)

He also found a doll of Mike Wazowski for her - Zooey saw a poster for the movie
'Monsters University' several weeks ago and got very excited when she saw Mike Wazowski (for the very first time) even going so far as to kiss the poster.  Strange girl.  Thank you Uncle Tim!

More sticker love

Zooey Sings!

As mentioned in an earlier post, Zooey has fallen deep into the world of Disney princesses, Ariel from the Little Mermaid being the first.  She is now in love with Cinderella, or "Rella" as she likes to call her, and though she hasn't seen the movie Snow White yet (I think it's a little too scary to show her, no?) she keeps asking for the book as the cover features the same beautiful dress that she has.

She started off singing Ariel's song but moved on quickly to join Ariel's sisters.
Next up, the Queen of the Night aria (Sumi Jo, from Mozart's Magic Flute)

Zooey, spontaneous performance singing and playing the guitar?/cello?/doublebass?

The Return of Snow White

Remember these photos from her 11-month pictures

Well, she's finally grown into the dress!!
