How to get a kiss from Zooey
The way to Z's heart is apparently through her stomach!
If you want to get a kiss, here's what you need to do:
1. Show her the treat
2. Draw her in
3. Insert treat into your mouth
4. Wait patiently as she moves in
5. Sneak in a smooch/bbo-bbo as she takes the treat while pretending
she is giving said smooch/bbo-bbo
6. Smile with glee at outwitting an 11-month old
A(nother) new chair for Zooey!
We got a special new chair for Zooey this Christmas
Let's hope she doesn't have to spend too much time in it! :D
[This chair was a gag gift from one of Chuck's colleagues
for the gift exchange at the office Christmas party, held at our house this year.
Conveniently, the person to whom it actually belonged decided to leave it for Zooey...]

Zooey's ponytail
While Zooey has been blessed to be born with a lot of hair (thanks mom!),
it was not quite a full head of hair - the top, visually important layer, was quite long, but the hair underneath was, sadly, lacking. Thankfully it is now filling in:
(if you look closely, only the hair in the upper half of her head is actually part of the ponytail)
"don't make fun of my hair!"

11 months old!
Zooey is 11 months old! Only one more month until
her first birthday! We can't believe this year
has flown by so quickly.
One year ago we were waiting for her arrival and today she is a bright, energetic, happy baby!
Her new smile!
[even princesses need a bib now and then]
"OK, now go get me my sunglasses!"
"Are we finished?"
"Oops, you weren't supposed to see this.....uh.....you will
delete that, won't you?"
delete that, won't you?"
[uh...no, mean mommy deletes nothing, muwhahahahaha]
"Bye!!!"
Fun with Uncle Peter
These pictures are a little late, taken when Uncle Peter visited in November.
He had lots of fun spending time with Zooey...

Z doesn't look quite as amused

Snow white by day, sleeping beauty by night
[ed. note: the cheesy title of this post cannot, unfortunately, be blamed on daddy. a moment of weakness on mommy's part. sorry.]

Z's unique brand of crawling
Zooey has developed a lopsided crawl/scoot to get around.
It's not the most efficient method of motion but allows miss busybody to move without having to put her head down.
Merry Christmas!
Before Christmas, I took Zooey to get her picture taken with Santa Claus. Having heard the horror stories of baby+Santa photos the world over, I anticipated the worst and braced myself for the screaming that would surely erupt from Z, especially since she had been showing signs of separation/stranger anxiety for several weeks.
Here is what we got:
not too bad, i thought, at least she's not crying.....
"why, mommy, why?
who IS this"
[ed. note: I was so impressed with his snow-white beard and jolly red cheeks
that I didn't even notice how casually Santa was dressed until I got home.
Where is his red velvet coat?!? I didn't pay $$$ to have a casual Santa in
a VEST when Z is dressed in her finest! (minus shoes - yes, to those concerned
about her shoeless-ness, she DOES have shoes, several pairs, in fact....
but she cried everytime I tried putting them on her and I was trying
to ELIMINATE any tear-inducing factors)
Mental note: next year, different mall.....]
