We're trying to get Zooey to bond with a friend to help 

her go to sleep more easily...here is one of the candidates!

"show me the money!"

At the one-year dol (birthday), it is Korean tradition 

to place the birthday girl/boy in front of various items

 as a predictor for the future (e.g. piece of string for life longevity, 

pen for future scholar, golf club for the next Tiger Woods, etc).  

After reaching her 8-month birthday, we decided to have Zooey 

start practicing.  I'm not sure what Sophie the giraffe or the 

monitor represent, but you can see what Z's going for!!!

Zooey still does not crawl forward - not content with staying on her knees, 

she tries to get up on her toes.  When she wants to reach/grab things in front of her, she instead rolls from side to side, diagonally, until she reaches her goal, or swivels around and goes backwards.  We think she's planning on skipping the forward crawl and go right to walking/running.

Zooey has been exploring her vocal range and has 

decided she likes her low notes (or maybe she is possessed???)

Hello!

Zooey started waving last week and loves greeting people!

Last weekend, we drove down to Newport Beach and walked

along the pier.  We pulled out Z's sunglasses, which she immediately pulled off (apparently she only likes mommy's sunglasses),

so Chuck decided to show her what they looked like on...

[Ed. note: HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! no wonder she didn't want them on!]

Gymboree class

We signed Zooey up for Gymboree classes and have attended

two so far.  So far, she seems to love meeting the other babies and gets very 

excited in the class - she's usually the most hyper one, 

full of smiles with each new song and activity.  It's a little hard to take

pictures/videos as I have to participate with her, but here are a few!

Zooey has been practicing her whining skills lately, something we 

had hoped to avoid until her teenage years (HA!!!!)
